Gillian Clarke is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working on the Isle of Wight.
Her work is greatly inspired by natural forms and she enjoys spending time drawing from life. These drawings and paintings become blueprints for her sculptures, which she enjoys creating in many different materials. From the textured spontaneity of Raku to the clean simplicity of porcelain, Gillian brings a different mood to each piece.
Her new series of pyramids and architectural structures are highly satisfying and create the most wonderful collections. The energy created between the structures and their spatial relationship to one another is very alluring and can be seasonally shifted to enjoy the different facets and subsequent shadows.
