Mazoy was born, Martine Mazoyer, in Paris in 1950. With 10 years of training at the top institutions in the city, including infamous Académie des Beax-Arts, Mazoy has a highly skilled hand. Teamed with her boundless imagination, which stretches from cubism to Japonism and beyond, her paintings are strong, considered and intriguing.
With exhibitions all over Europe as well as Japan and the U.S, Mazoy’s characters connect to people from all walks of life. Drawing what you will from her abstracted portraits and figures, there is a distinct mood and energy to each work, while retaining a wonderful sense of mystery and anonymity.
